Old photographs, records, meeting minutes, memories, memorabilia - In fact anything to do with Scouting in Doncaster. Doncaster Danum District wants to preserve it heritage. There has been Scouting in Doncaster since 1909, firstly with Doncaster and District and from 1974 the recent Districts of Doncaster North, South, East and West. That's 95 years of history and a lot of happy memories for thousands of people. It is so easy for records, photographs, memorabilia etc. to end up forgotten in the back of a dusty cupboard and ultimately thrown away as junk. It isn't junk - it is our history and to try and preserve this Doncaster Danum is creating an archive of as much information and as many artefacts as possible before they are lost forever. If you have any items that would help add to those already in the archive then please allow them to be added to it. If you do not want to donate, then you could consider a loan or just lend them to us so we can make copies and return the originals as soon as possible to you. You may also know of ex - Scouters who still have a "Scouting Box" in their home - please contact them or pass on a copy of this poster.
